Depending on the rules of the particular variation of the game, the best hand might be the aforementioned full house, or it might be a pair of kings. For the purposes of this article, the best hand is considered the hand that contains the best five cards.
The game also has a special fund referred to as the kitty. This is not to be confused with the “kitty” in bingo, but rather with the special chip that can be exchanged for cash. Players are allowed to leave the table before the game is over, but they are not entitled to their kitty.
The poker aficionado will also be aware of the fact that there are many different versions of the game, with the most popular being the Hold’em variant. The game was a huge hit in the 1970s, and was televised in the early 21st century. These days, you can even play the game online.
